When I left the movies after watching F1 with Brad Pitt, it had started raining cats and dogs. I pulled out my pocket umbrella and started heading towards the pedestrian crossing, walking past the many people hiding in the building entries.

Two people with umbrellas were already waiting at the traffic lights, in the pouring rain. And then there was the third person, soaked, no umbrella.

It took me five seconds of hesitation. Then I walked over and just held my umbrella over him. No words, just a smile.

For another 15 seconds we were just standing in rainy silence, waiting for the lights to change. Then we started walking together. For roughly 5m, until he had to turn right.

We separated with no words, just two smileys.

These were only 15 seconds and 5m, but it made a difference. For both of us strangers.

„Mr. Wednesday, what do you need from me today to serve you?“ — the question that shifted my morning routine and brought back the peace and alignment I lost.

When we serve ourselves first and the world only after, then the peace and inner alignment are there. If we do it the other way round, we always feel like we are not the priority (because we are not) and we don’t deserve the attention that we give others. And that’s wrong.

We all know that we can’t pour from an empty cup. So let’s fill our cups rich, first thing in the morning to then pour our joy, energy and goodness over ourselves and others! 💜

There’s a simple question I use with senior leaders to reset their thinking:

“𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞… 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫?”
It’s remarkable how often the answer changes everything.

Because the higher you rise, the more complex the challenges:
→ 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬.
→ 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞.
→ 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐬.

It’s easy to get entangled in the noise.

And when that happens – small problems feel outsized.
Decisions feel overwhelming.
Confidence falters.

But 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 is a leadership tool.
→ The ability to 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞.
→ Zoom out.
→ 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞 the moment.

That project hurdle?
That difficult conversation?
That self-doubt creeping in?

From a broader vantage point—they become manageable.
Not insignificant—but no longer defining.

This is a practice I embed with my clients:

Many of my clients come to me feeling 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱.
Not because they aren’t working hard.
But because they’ve lost themselves in being 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆.

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗽𝘂𝘁. 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘀.
And still — a lack of feeling like themselves.

Here’s what I’ve learned:
▶️ 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀.
▶️ 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀.
▶️ 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆.

But 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁.
𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺.
𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

❗And when there are 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 in your day...
❗No space for 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 —
❗You stop feeling 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲.

When your 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲. Not the constant pursuit.

So if you want to be more productive, start by asking:

🟢 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗺 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀? 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿?
🟢 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲?
🟢 Is what I’m doing right now bringing me 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 — or 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 from the life I actually want?

Because if 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹...
You might never feel fulfilled — even if you’re 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲.

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹.
But it works best as a 𝗯𝘆𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Carl Jung once said:

You’re allowed to jump.
You’re allowed to switch.
You’re allowed to get lost.

▶️ Getting lost is part of being found.
▶️ The search isn’t the problem—it’s the path.
▶️ The more doors you open, the more you learn about who you are.

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟬: 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅.
You’ve got time.
You’re allowed to try things, fail at things, play, explore.
