Newsletter and Electronic Notifications
We send newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications (hereinafter "newsletter") only with the consent of the recipients or based on a legal basis. If the contents of the newsletter are specified in the course of registration, they are decisive for the users’ consent. Normally, providing your email address is sufficient for registration. To provide you with a personalized service, we may also ask for your name for a personal salutation in the newsletter or further information if necessary for the purpose of the newsletter.

Deletion and restriction of processing: We may store unsubscribed email addresses for up to three years based on our legitimate interests before deleting them to be able to prove previously given consent. Information about us, our services, campaigns, and offers.
Processed data types: Inventory data (e.g., full name, residential address, contact information, customer number, etc.); Contact data (e.g., postal and email addresses or telephone numbers); Meta, communication, and process data (e.g., IP addresses, time details, identification numbers, involved persons).
Right to object (opt-out): You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent or object to further receipt. A link to unsubscribe from the newsletter can be found at the end of each newsletter or you can use one of the above contact options, preferably email.

Further information on processing operations, procedures and services:
Measurement of opening and click rates: The newsletters contain a so-called "web beacon", i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from our or the server of our service provider when the newsletter is opened. Technical information, such as browser and system data as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval, is initially collected during this process. This information is used to improve our newsletter technically and to analyze the reading behavior of users based on their retrieval locations or access times. This analysis also includes determining whether and when newsletters are opened and which links are clicked. The information is assigned to individual newsletter recipients and stored in their profiles until deletion. The evaluations serve to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users. The measurement of opening and click rates and the storage of the measurement results in user profiles – This text section must be unlocked with a premium license; Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Web Analytics, Monitoring and Optimization
Web analysis (also referred to as "reach measurement") is used to evaluate the visitor flows of our online offer and may include behavior, interests, or demographic information about visitors, such as age or gender, as pseudonymous values. Reach analysis allows us, for example, to determine when our online offer or its functions or content are most frequently used.

In addition to web analysis, we may use testing procedures to test and optimize different versions of our online offer or its components.
Unless otherwise specified, profiles may be created for these purposes, and information may be stored in a browser or device and then read. The information collected includes visited websites and elements used there as well as technical details such as the browser used, the computer system, and information on usage times. If users have consented to the collection of their location data, this may also be processed.

In addition, users’ IP addresses are stored. However, we use IP masking (pseudonymization by shortening the IP address) to protect users. Generally, no clear data (such as email addresses or names) of users are stored in the context of web analysis, A/B testing and optimization, but pseudonyms. This means that neither we nor the providers of the software used know the actual identity of the users, only the information stored in their profiles.
Legal basis: If we ask users for their consent to the use of third-party services, the legal basis is consent. Otherwise, user data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in efficient, economical and user-friendly services). In this context, we also refer to the information on the use of cookies in this Privacy Policy.

Processed data types: Usage data (e.g., page views and time spent, click paths, usage intensity and frequency, types of devices and operating systems used, interactions with content and functions). Meta, communication, and process data (e.g., IP addresses, time details, identification numbers, involved persons).
Data subjects: Users (e.g., website visitors, users of online services).
Purposes of processing: Reach measurement (e.g., access statistics, recognition of returning visitors); profiles with user-related information (creation of user profiles). Provision of our online offer and user-friendliness.

Security measures: IP masking (pseudonymization of the IP address).
Legal bases: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Further information on processing operations, procedures and services:

Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to measure and analyze the use of our online offer based on a pseudonymous user identification number. This identification number does not contain any unique data, such as names or email addresses. It is used to assign analysis information to a device, to recognize which content users have accessed, which search terms they have used, whether they have accessed it again or interacted with our online offer. The time and duration of use, as well as the sources referring users to our online offer and technical aspects of their devices and browsers, are also stored. Pseudonymous profiles of users are created using information from the use of different devices, with cookies possibly being used. Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses for EU users. Analytics only provides rough geographic location data by deriving it from IP address metadata: city (and derived latitude and longitude), continent, country, region, subcontinent. For EU traffic, IP address data is used exclusively for geolocation derivation before being deleted immediately. It is not logged, accessible, or used for further purposes. When Google Analytics collects measurement data, all IP queries are performed on EU-based servers before the traffic is forwarded to Analytics servers for processing; Service provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); Website: https://marketingplatform.google.com/intl/de/about/analytics/; Security measures: IP masking (pseudonymization of the IP address); Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy; Data Processing Agreement: https://business.safety.google/adsprocessorterms/; Basis for third-country transfers: Data Privacy Framework (DPF); Opt-out option: Opt-out plugin: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de, ad display settings: https://myadcenter.google.com/personalizationoff.
Social Media Presence
We maintain online presences within social networks and process user data in this context to communicate with users active there or to offer information about us.

We point out that user data may be processed outside the European Union. This may pose risks for users, for example, making it more difficult to enforce user rights.
In addition, user data is usually processed within social networks for market research and advertising purposes. Based on usage behavior and resulting interests, usage profiles can be created and used to, for example, display advertisements inside and outside the networks that are likely to match users’ interests. Cookies are usually stored on users’ devices to record usage behavior and interests. Data can also be stored in user profiles regardless of the devices used (especially if users are members of the respective platforms and logged in).

For detailed information on the respective processing and opt-out options, please refer to the privacy policies of the network providers.
In the case of information requests and the exercise of data subject rights, we also point out that these can be asserted most effectively with the providers. Only they have access to the users’ data and can take immediate action. If you still need help, you can contact us.
Processed data types: Contact data (e.g., postal and email addresses or telephone numbers); Content data (e.g., text or image messages and contributions as well as related information, such as authorship details or time of creation). Usage data (e.g., page views and time spent, click paths, usage intensity and frequency, types of devices and operating systems used, interactions with content and functions).
Data subjects: Users (e.g., website visitors, users of online services).

Plug-ins and Embedded Functions and Content
We integrate functional and content elements into our online offer that are obtained from the servers of their respective providers (third parties). These may include graphics, videos, or maps.
The integration always requires that the third-party providers of these contents process the users’ IP address, since they could not send the contents to their browser without the IP address. The IP address is therefore required to display these contents or functions. We strive to use only content whose providers use the IP address solely to deliver the content. Third parties may also use pixel tags (invisible graphics, also known as "web beacons") for statistical or marketing purposes. The "pixel tags" can be used to evaluate information such as visitor traffic on the pages of this website. The pseudonymous information may also be stored in cookies on the users’ device and contain technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, visit time as well as further information on the use of our online offer, and may also be combined with such information from other sources.
Legal basis: If we ask users for consent to the use of third-party services, the legal basis is consent.

Purposes of processing: Provision of our online offer and user-friendliness.
Legal bases: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Further information on processing operations, procedures and services:
Google Fonts (retrieval from Google server): Retrieval of fonts (and icons) for technically secure, maintenance-free and efficient use of fonts and icons with regard to timeliness, loading times, consistent presentation and consideration of possible license restrictions. The provider of the fonts is informed of the user’s IP address so that the fonts can be provided in the user’s browser. Technical data (language settings, screen resolution, operating system, hardware used) is also transmitted, which is necessary for providing the fonts depending on devices and technical environment. This data may be processed on a server of the font provider in the USA. According to Google, no IP addresses are logged, stored, or analyzed. Details of HTTP requests (requested URL, user agent, referrer URL) are logged for debugging and aggregated usage statistics. More information: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy?hl=de. Service provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); Website: https://fonts.google.com/; Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy; Basis for third-country transfers: Data Privacy Framework (DPF).
